Hello and welcome to the About Me Page. As you may already know, My name is Antony Hudson and I hope to share my stories
with you. I enjoy writing Science Fiction mostly, but I dabble in other genres
now and again.
I
have been writing for as long as I can remember, always taking those
opportunities to grab a pen and get those words that were dancing around in my
head onto a piece of paper. I wrote many fan fiction stories, and still do to
this day for I find it's a nice break away from writing those stories I wish to
publish for I don't have to worry about getting my grammar and punctuation a
hundred per cent correct - it is relaxing.
During
high school, I got an idea that I couldn't shake. It naturally started developing
by itself and soon the characters were fleshed out and the story was nearly all
pieced together, but I never really got around to writing it down for it just
didn't feel like it was the write time to do so. I kept it at the back of my
mind for a couple of years before, during my second year of college, it was
time to write something down. At first I wrote a short story consisting of 12
thousand words. And to my amazement, people actually starting liking it, and
before I knew it I was being recommended the 'Writers' and Artists' Yearbook'.
That book was filled to the brim with everything that I needed to know about
getting all sorts of writing published, be it in book form, newspaper and
magazine, TV or film, and poetry, it was an incredibly detailed book from start
to finish. I had been dreaming of getting something that I've written published
for a very long time, and I felt that I had finally found that one thing that
would help me do just that, and so I followed the book to the letter. Sooner or
later I came across a publisher and I submitted my story to them and they
returned by saying that if I made it longer, say between 60 - 90 thousand
words, they would consider it.
That
was beyond anything that I ever imagined. I was actually on my way to getting
something published. Without wasting any time, I sat down and started making
the story longer for although I had only written 12 thousand words and rounded
off the story, I had plenty of ideas, that I could do with the characters and
so I didn't have to stress myself out by trying to piece things together. I
knew where the story was going to end up, and soon I had something that I was
happy with. For the second time, I submitted what I can now satisfyingly call a
manuscript to the publishers and they said they would go for it. At last, I had
something being published.
And
that is how my book, Sector 22: Zoey was born. And I have never stopped writing
short stories, novels ever since. I hope to publish more books and get people
reading. Knowing that there is someone out there in the world reading the words
that I so lovingly wrote, is beyond anything that I can comprehend and probably
never will.
The
Watch is a story that started off as a thing. Nothing more than something that
I was writing on a daily bases because I wanted to. And then, as I kind of
expected, it started to mould into something that I am now really happy about.
The characters started to take on a life of their own, meaning I knew how they
would react in a certain situation without having to think about their response
overnight. I didn't want that story to go to waste, so I started this blog
because I felt there really was no other medium that would fit my story.
I
do have plenty of ideas for many stories that I do hope to write in the future
and I hope that you will enjoy and I'll be looking forward to any feedback you
wish to give.
Thanks
for reading.
Antony
Hudson.
