… Of the Week: 30th December 2015 – 6th January 2016

Movie of the Week:

Unfriended

Found-footage is a genre of film that you either love or hate, but even when you do enjoy watching those types of films, depending on the film itself, it can still be difficult to get into a enjoy as much as you would have liked. The shaky camera can be a bit distracting when instead it supposed to blur the line between what is real and what is fiction, it is a very unique way of telling a story. Over recent years, the number of films in the found-footage genre has grown a lot with the arrival of the Paranormal Activity series. From what I have learnt from watching a few films of this type, is that horror does appear to be the better way of really blurring that line. The Paranormal Activity series did scare and shock us, but then we kind of got used to the concept and a lot of us has drifted away from the series and the genre once more. It became too predictable, we knew that it wasn’t real, we knew how the basic ideas worked and so we expected something different, and so we left the genre altogether. The only way that can pull us back into our seats is for a film to do something different with the idea. And that’s when Unfriended came along.

The entire film is told through someone’s laptop via a Skype conversation. It’s about a group of teenagers who started off causally talking about everyday life and having a bit of fun, as everyone does when talking with friends over Skype, but then a mysterious caller appears and that’s when things start to go downhill for these people. The ghost of a teenage girl who was bullied into committing suicide has come to haunt the people who made her life hell, and what an impact she makes. It’s quite clear from the moment this film starts off that this is a unique way of telling a found-footage story. It kept me glued to my chair as the characters slowly felt the full force of this supernatural being. In a way, this film doesn’t do anything that a classic horror normally does. It basically strips it down to the very basics of what a story can be before it stops being interesting, and that to me is interesting. With so little, they managed to do so much.

I will have to address that there are many critics who have expressed their dislike towards the film, and that’s fair enough, but some of these critics you can plainly see don’t really like found-footage in general. If you are aware of the concept and enjoy it, then you will like this film.

If this sounds like your type of film, below is the link to the IMDB page of the film:

TV Program of the Week:

Still Open All Hours

The legend that is Ronnie Barker never stopped making us laugh. One of his greatest roles, in my opinion, is the tight-fisted shop owner, Arkwright, who will stop at nothing to make sure his profits are high. Each episode was a classic and still makes the nation laugh even today. The show ran for 4 series from 1976 – 1985, which is also the year that Ronnie sadly passed away. It would be impossible to continue on the story with a replacement actor in the shoes of Arkwright as Ronnie is the only person to nail the characters quirky personality each and every time. It was simply a genius of a show.

When I heard that they would be continuing the show as a one-off Christmas Special in 2014, I couldn’t help but get intrigued. The TV magazine said that it would follow Arkwright’s nephew Granville after inheriting the shop after Arkwright’s passing. What drew me to watching it was two things. The first being that David Jason would reprise the role of Granville along with Lynda Baron as Nurse Gladys. The second thing is that it would be written by the original writer Roy Clarke, who is a comic genius when it comes to writing TV shows. He is the only person I know of that would know exactly what to do with the characters. After knowing that Roy Clarke was behind the pen, I had to give it a chance, and I was completely blown away by how it captured everything that the original was as well as paying tribute to the original and Arkwright at the same time. The laughs are a plenty. I wasn’t the only person to have liked the show as its popularity grew massively since the one-off special and a new series was commissioned almost immediately. This year, in 2015, on Boxing Day, series 2 began and is still as good as it was during the first series.

It’s very hard to keep things exactly how they were many years before, but Still Open All Hours does exactly that without struggling one bit.

Game of the Week:

Legoland

Before Rollercoaster Tycoon became hugely popular and took over as head of the theme park games, Legoland was storming the market. I loved playing this game as a kid. Even if I didn’t understand everything that was going on, I enjoyed playing with it because the light-heartedness of the entire game drew me in and I didn’t stop playing until the computer grew too old and didn’t work properly anymore. After that, our new computer wouldn’t play the game properly and so we threw it away. I never really remembered much of it as I grew up until I found it in a shop in Colchester one day; all my memories of playing it flooded back. Fortunately, the game has been upgraded to play on Windows 7, which means that this game is still popular enough to warrant an upgrade instead of being pushed to one side and forgotten about. I had to get it and start playing it again. It was just as I remembered it and that just increased the level of nostalgic value behind the game. As far as I’m concerned, this was the first true great theme park game, and a truly spectacular game it is.

Video of the Week:

I/O – Input/Output

This video might have come out in the beginning of October, but this video is very hard to describe. The only thing I can say is how imaginative the creator is. This video ignores how the rules work and creates its own, and that makes for one heck of a fantastic video. The first time you watch this, there will be so many questions, and it’s only when you’ve watched it several times afterwards that you begin to understand it all. Heck, you have to watch it a second time anyway because your brain won’t be able to understand it the first time round.

I have no idea what the meaning behind this is, if there is one at all, but I believe that because of how so much is going on, you will be able to make up your own meaning behind it. For me, the meaning of this video is not to be worrying about things if they are suddenly turned upside down. If something happens that you weren’t expecting, just roll with it and move on because you may make yourself worry about something that isn’t necessarily significant compared to the many other things going on around you. Of course, if a particular thing is turned upside down and it is significant, then again, don’t worry about it. The last thing you want to do is panic and make things worse. The situation will be sorted out in no time at all if you are cool, calm and collective.

But of course, the actual meaning behind this film is probably vastly different to anything I’ve interpreted that it makes the film make even less sense. Maybe there really isn’t a meaning behind this film, just a very imaginative person wanting to see what he can make. Whatever the meaning, it’s safe to say that this is one very awesome video that never fails to deliver no matter how many times you watch it.

The Watch – Part 36:

The robot spotted me before I could make a move and flew out of the way.

‘You again,’ it said in a frustrated voice.

This was my first time flying and it felt strange to be suspended in the air. A part of me expected to drop like a stone. My feet were dangling without stability. But my added strength allowed me to keep stable and I quickly became immune to the effects.

‘I half expected you to show up, but I wasn’t expecting you this early. You’re quite clever to have figured out where I might target next, I will admit that,’ it said. I sensed a but coming, ‘but you are completely unaware that I made sure that I was prepared for your sudden attack as well. I’ve made an upgrade to my robots with the latest software that I built, so now they won’t be so easy to take out.’

‘Wow, you did all that in only a couple of hours,’ I said genuinely amazed.

‘Actually, I had the upgrade ready for months now, I only expected to be using it against an army, not against a single human being, if that is what I can call you. But whatever you are, you will be defeated once and for all.’

‘You keep telling yourself that,’ I said defensively, knowing that might break the last straw.

‘I don’t have to,’ and he flew towards me at speed, catching me unaware and hitting me square in the chest, sending me flying backwards and landing on my back with a huge, explosive sound, cracking the ground around me. That would have gotten the people inside the stadium’s attention for sure. I just hope they don’t venture outside to see what all the commotion is all about. That would be defeating the objective of why I’m trying to stop the robot from entering the stadium entirely.

I was lying in a small crater when the robot went in for another attack. I managed to heave myself out from the ground and rolled away before he came pelting downwards. His fist collided with the ground where my body just was, sending a cloud of dust and asphalt into the air. I used the temporary cloud of dust to mask my getting to my feet and preparing myself for a counterattack.

As soon as I was able to see even an outline of the robot, I kicked myself off from the ground, fist out, and flew into the robot’s side. It was now his turn to be flung across the carpark, landing with a crash, but it quickly recovered and smartly swung around, kicking me into the air. He twisted his body around so that he landed on his feet, kicked off and rammed into me, sending me higher before grabbing me by the collar and, not making the same mistake twice, pushed me downwards until I slammed into the ground with so much force, I caused a crater twice the size as the one before, kicking up so much dust; the cloud took a couple of seconds to disappear completely.

I used my strength to punch the robot as hard as I could in my position and it made a dent in its armour. Because it was a robot, it didn’t flinch with pain, instead it carried on its attack, punching me as hard as it could. I didn’t feel any pain either, so it was an even match. Soon, I managed to kick him from the ground so that I was able to upright myself. The robot’s speed once again caught me off guard and I was hit in the back of the head, forcing me to my knees. I moved my arms around to the back of me and grabbed the robot’s legs, pulling them forward until he toppled over. I stood up straight, clenched my hands around his left arm and heaved him up above my head before swinging him back down, copying the same move he did on me, creating a similar crack in the ground.

It was an even match right from the beginning, and doesn’t seem to be moving in any direction. The robot noticed this so resorted to using his weapons instead of his fists. It lifted his arm up and charged what looked like a laser. He was pointing it right at me. He fired and I dodged, and again, and again, until he out performed me and struck me in the back. I felt the heat burn my suit, but my invulnerability power prevented me from getting burned. The force of the laser did push me forward a step, but I stayed firm until the laser stopped firing. I had no weapons on me, so I had to up my game if I am to penetrate the robot’s defences. I knew he was going to be using more than just a laser. It had two swords, one in each arm, and they would soon be deployed.

He charged his laser up again, and started to deploy the guns on his back as well – I could see the mechanism open up along his shoulders. I moved my feet into position, ready to take off. As soon as the laser was about to be fired, I kicked off from the ground, flying as high as I dared without wasting too much time, before landing behind him – my speed allowed me to do this all in a couple of seconds, then punch his back, but the guns were ready and fired straight into my face, sending bullets pelting towards me, pushing my head backwards before the rest of my face.

The robot then turned around and fired the laser at point blank range, burning my shirt away, but not my skin. This time, I could feel the heat. I powered on through the sudden attack and used all the strength that I could muster at the time into a series of punches that outright knocked the robot off its feet. I noticed that I successfully dented the armour around its face, but I hadn’t actually broken it, meaning I have to increase my strength some more, which isn’t a problem at all.

Whilst the robot was picking itself up, I pressed a series of buttons on my watch, increasing my strength to twice amount again. I felt the power flow through my body and I felt good.

It was as easy as one two three. I was hailed with bullets after laser after bullets after laser, but I shrugged each attack off, as I struck the robot in any place I could. Each punch made a much greater impact as the one before. This time, instead of just denting the armour, I actually broke through it into its wire system. I grabbed a handful of wires and pulled them out. A series of sparks, flying in every direction forced the robot to fall down to the ground, considerably weakened.

‘It’s amazing that you think a mere flesh wound like this can keep me from defeating you,’ it said looking up at me.

‘I won’t have to if you just answer one simple question of mine,’ I said.

‘And that is?’ he asked me.

‘Who is your controller? But if I am speaking to you right now, where are you now?’ I asked.

He laughed, ‘you think I’m going to just give you that information. You think that I’m going to let you walk right up to my front door and arrest me. I don’t think so.’ And he lunged in for another attack. I was prepared for it and therefore defended myself. He deployed his two swords and swiped them across my chest, but didn’t break my skin. Instead, I was forced backwards. I smiled at the fact that he couldn’t hurt me as I had hurt it.

The fight continued, but was over quickly. In the end, I struck his armour, penetrating his insides, destroying as much as I could.

‘Looks like you need another upgrade.’ He was kneeling on the ground, looking up at me before I did the same finishing move as before and slicing his head in half with his own sword after I had broken it off during the fight. He slumped backwards. All power lost. I bet I made the controller of the robots that much madder.

Then I realised there was people watching me. I was far enough away from them to hide my identity, but I didn’t want them getting too close so I disappeared where I stood, teleporting out of there, back to my home.

‘Well, that was half a complete waste of time and half a successful trip out,’ I said noting the fact that I did successfully defend the arena from the robot’s attack, but not get hold of any information concerning where the controller is hiding. I will have to dive deeper.

‘Time for round three.’

TO BE CONTINUED…

Top Number: My Top 6 Films in 2015

This year in film has been an incredible one. A massive film fanatic that I am, I knew that I had to write an article explaining the reasons behind why I have chosen a certain as my favourites. I’ve seen a large range of genres, from comedy and animation to live action and horror, and there have been a few surprising films that have earned their spot on this list. It did take me a long while to arrange them in an order that I felt was right for each film since I didn’t want to have any that are sharing a spot. A couple you may recognise as I’ve already talked about them in my ‘… Of the Week’ articles.

Before I do start this list, I would like to say that this is my opinion, so if you do disagree with a film being on this list, feel free to do so and explain what films you find were the best of the year.

Number 6:

Project Almanac

Don’t worry, this list isn’t going to be compiled of films about time travel. This is the first film I saw in the year, and it was really well written. Made to look and feel like a found-footage film, this film is about a group of teenagers who discover plans to build a time machine in one of the character’s basement. Over the next days, they set about making the plans a reality and science fiction becomes reality. Soon they are able to go back in time to chance the past for their benefit or simply to have fun. However, things quickly get out of hand when one of the teenagers start going back in time alone.

For me, I’m not a huge fan of found-footage films as I do find it distracts me from the story, but I was intrigued as to how they would implement this particular genre to something that has been done many times before, and the result is a classic time travel story but told in a unique way. The found-footage aspect of it is neither a hit nor miss, but apart from that, it is a superb time travel story that has plenty of paradoxes to get your head bubbling with excitement.

Below is the link to the IMDB page for the film:

Number 5:

Paper Towns

Now, this film was a surprising one. I’m not fussy when it comes to watching films, but I do find myself not watching that many romance films as I’m more for those types of films where it’s the action is a plenty or the paradoxes are mind-bendingly fun, but when I sat down and watched this film after being recommended it, when the credits started to roll, I did think that was a brilliant film.

It’s about a teenage boy, Q, who has been in love with the girl, Margo, who is living in the house opposite since forever, and one night, Margo comes to his house asking if she could borrow the car, and since she doesn’t drive herself, then Q needs to come with to drive her to wherever she needs to go. After hesitating and being talked into it, he agrees to go along and what stems from that moment onwards is the greatest night of his life. Q gets to spend some alone time with the Margo, the girl of his dreams for an entire night, without any interruptions. What can be better than that? Unfortunately, he doesn’t get to find out as the next morning, he finds Margo suddenly gone. When investigating her sudden disappearance, he finds a set of clues leading to where she is. Believing it to be a test for him, he sets about following these clues with a group of friends to what is known as a Paper Town – a place that doesn’t officially exist because mapmakers add it to their maps to avoid any copyright infringement.

A clever love story that held me tight from beginning to end. I was thoroughly surprised to say the least.

Below is the link to the IMDB page for the film:

Number 4:

Insidious: Chapter 3

If there’s only one thing that the Insidious film series has done right, it’s getting the continuity across all three films absolutely perfect. Chapters 1 and 2 focus on the same family whereas this one focuses on a different family and is also a prequel to the first two. Full of scares and terrifying ghosts, recognisable characters to make you feel safe, and awesome continuity moments that will easily make you forget about the question: Why do they always put the prequel as the third film in the series?

If you haven’t seen it yet, then I shall not give away any spoilers for a horror film as great as this should be experienced with knowing as little about the story as possible. And if you have already seen the film, then you would know why I have kept any spoilers at bay.

Below is the link to the IMDB page for the film:

Number 3:

The Avengers: Age of Ultron

When I decided to write this list, the first film that immediately popped into my head for the number one slot was the sequel to the 2010’s The Avengers. We’re now so deep into the storyline of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that this doesn’t shy away from not setting any characters up. From the word go, we are chucked into their world and a new story can begin. A lot of critics have stated that it is very hard to keep up with everything that is going on with how many characters there are and how many plot points that the other films have set up, but I feel that because we’re now nearing the mid-point of the epic journey with these incredible superheroes, it can’t waste its time bringing in new viewers. You need to watch the films beforehand to properly understand everything that is going on, that is a given, but the action, the overall banter between characters will keep you in your chair right the way through to the end.

Below is the link to the IMDB page for the film:

Number 2:

Star Wars: The Force Awakens

‘What are you doing putting Star Wars second? What one film can possibly be better than this one?’ I hear you cry. I know I’m not going to be Mr. Popular after this, but I’m confident in saying that my number one film do deserve the number one spot. It is really hard to write an article, praising the film without giving away any major plot points. All I can say is the acting is superb, the storyline is epic, the fight scenes are very well choreographed, and the overall nostalgic atmosphere that surrounds the entire film will make you want to come back for more. Episode VIII is out in 2017. I know, I can’t wait that long either.

Below is the link to the IMDB page for the film:

Number 1:

Inside Out

Pixar’s Inside Out being number one makes the second year in a row that an animation film has taken the top spot. Last year it was deservingly given to the Lego Movie. Pixar has earned the reputation of making spectacular animation films that will pull you in and won’t let go and will undoubtedly pull on your tear ducks. Admittedly, they did have a period where they didn’t do quite as well, but Inside Out proves that Pixar is back and is staying for a very long time to come.

Focusing on the titular character, Riley, who has to adjust moving to a new home, away from her friends. Her emotions do go on a journey of a lifetime as well, exploring the core mechanics of their job is all about. Joy and Sadness learn an incredible lesson about how life works, and in turn helps Riley grow to be the person she will be as an adult. There are enough moments in this film that will test how strong you are before you start crying your eyes out. A film exploring how feelings deals with their feelings, this is one heck of a film and will remain on people’s minds for a very long time to come.

Whether or not it deserves a sequel is a debate that many people may say that it would ruin it if they did, yet the other half are saying that there is so much more than can be said. Growing up has many stages, and this film explored just one of those stages. What will happen in the next one? Should Pixar let us come up with our own stories, or make another film? Whatever they decide, I trust that they will make a film worth watching. Just make sure that it comes out after Incredibles 2. I’ve been waiting for that for years and I’ll be damned if I have to wait any longer. Where’s a time machine when I need one?

... Of the Week: 23rd – 30th December 2015

Movie of the Week:

Star Wars: The Force Awakens

With this article, I wanted to celebrate Christmas by sharing with you a classic film that will get you in the mood for Christmas, but then I saw Star Was and immediately changed my mind.
Don’t worry, I won’t give away any spoilers. This is one epic film from beginning to end that would satisfy the most hardcore of fans. You might have already seen the film considering it did take in a record-breaking $529 million (£355 million), which just knocks Jurassic World’s $524.9 million (£325 million) of the top spot, in its opening weekend, which is staggering. Many people are saying, and I totally agree, that this film has a strong chance of beating the likes of Avatar as the number one grossing film in the world, although it still has a long way to go as the final total for Avatar is a whopping, $2,787,965,087 (£1,873,947,349.50).
Currently, Stars Wars is the fifth highest-grossing film series of all time, beating by the likes of, Marvel Cinematic Universe, Harry Potter, James Bond, and Middle-Earth series consisting of the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit trilogies. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is still going strong with many more movies set to be released over the coming few years, whereas Star Wars have two more films to go, but if the next two films are as good as this one, if not better, then Star Wars is going to be giving Marvel the run for its money. But even if it doesn’t manage knock Marvel of the top spot, that doesn’t matter, for Star Wars is still going to be one of the greatest film series of all time. The way it has impacted day to day life is and will always be amazing.
When the next two films hit our cinema screens, I’ll make sure that I’ve secured myself a seat.

Below is the link to its IMDB page:

TV Program of the Week:

John Bishop’s Christmas Show

John Bishop returns for his third Christmas special, which guests a plenty. From comedians to international superstars, this show will instantly get you in the mood for Christmas. You can sit down with your family and friends and have a great big laugh as John Bishop does what he does best. Kylie Minogue sings one of her songs from her very first ever Christmas album, and if that doesn’t get you in the mood, then I don’t know what will. Now available on BBC iPlayer, if you haven’t already seen it, then go and have fun. If you have seen it, then go and have fun all over again.

Below is the link to the BBC iPlayer page:

Game of the Week:

Grand Theft Auto V

Warning: Contains mature content

OK, so it’s not a game that focuses solely on Christmas, but its online Christmas DLC does. That counts, right?
It has become a yearly tradition for GTA V to include, for the Christmas period only – because it’s their Christmas DLC – their usual bad costumes, masks, and other seasonal updates. If you aren’t familiar with the game GTA V, then where have you been for the last few years? Once again, you’ve got all the fun of GTA V and Christmas in the same place. What can be better than that? Christmas Shopper 2: Black Friday? I don’t think so.

Below is the Steam link to the game:

Video of the Week:

When I was picking the video to write about in this article, I came across three that I felt were equally as good, and I just couldn't decide on just one, so for a Christmas treat, here are three videos instead of just the one.

Animation Vs Minecraft

The person behind the popular web series, Animator Vs Animation has, in my opinion, created his best work yet. Animation Vs Minecraft tells the story of the four stick-men previous seen in the Animator Vs Animation videos take a journey through the world known by many across the globe as the popular sandbox game, Minecraft. It has an incredible story that sucked me in right from the beginning and didn't let up throughout. There is no dialogue, but, as the saying goes: A picture paints a thousand words. I seriously recommend this if you haven't already seen it.

Little Girl Mistakes Bearded Shopper for Santa Claus, Then Something Amazing Happens.

This video is cute, adorable, heart-warming, and will easily make you smile. The title describes everything that happens in the video, so I don’t really have to say much except to recommend it to you guys. It’s a short, simple, and sweet video that proves people are awesome.

Below is the link to the Youtube video:

An anti-war song that turned into a Christmas hit. This is by far my number 1 Christmas song because of the addictive, uplifting beat that brings home the message that much more. This song also reminds me when, during World War 2, on Christmas day, England and Germany would put down their weapons and exchange gifts, play football and have a genuinely fun day together before resuming fighting each other the very next day. This song, along with every other Christmas hit, will, unfortunately always be relevant.

To all those people who are away from their families and friends this Christmas, I would like say: Have a very merry Christmas and a happy new year.

The Watch – Part 35:

After a couple of hours of investigating and putting as many pieces of the puzzle that I could find together, I eventually come up with an estimation on where the robots are being stored. When the events were cancelled, they went into storage. I figured they don’t want to transport the robot too far away, just in case something like this happens again. They would want to get the robot into a safe place as quickly as possible. That’s when I remembered that the robot ascended from the ground at the demonstration.

It is a strong possibility that they made a base underneath the stadium. During past performances, the inbuilt elevator on the ground has been used multiple times, and so it wouldn’t be too hard to make sure that the place underground was kitted out with the latest protection, to ensure that the robot was safe. However, they must have thought the robot was capable of protecting itself once active, because of it being the most advanced in the world. Who knew that was going to happen? I also looked at many past performances of the other stadiums that the robot was scheduled to perform there, and they all have the elevator on the ground.

It was a strong possibility, but still a hunch. nevertheless, I had to test my theory and search about the place to see what I can find.

‘That’s a good a place as any, I guess,’ I said, pointing to the nearest stadium to me on the map, which was located twenty miles away from here. I entered the coordinates into my watch and pressed the button. I went from here to there in an instance. All the other times before it, my brain struggled to figure out what is going on. One second I’m standing in my living room, and the next I’m outside. It wasn’t a strong case of disorientation, but it was just enough to keep me stationary for a couple of seconds. If I attempt to walk, I would be on the floor in seconds, and I don’t particularly want to hurt myself by falling head over heels like that. Even though this is the least demanding way to travel compared to travelling through the Void or the Space-Time Vortex, my body still has to get used to it. But, because it is the least demanding, hopefully, my body will get used to it a lot quicker than the other two.

When I arrived at the stadium, I waited for a couple of seconds for my brain to adjust to the sudden change in scenery. It was deserted. Not a single soul guarding the place. I reckon that everyone was underground, making sure that the robot was fully protected from any attack, and so it was all hands on deck, just to make sure the job was done quickly and properly. No one from afar spotted my arrival, otherwise they would have alerted someone to tell me to leave immediately and to never come back if I know what’s good for me. But there was not a single sound except the terrifying sound of silence. And that means anything could happen. It’s one of those moments when you think the place is a little too quiet for your liking as it adds an amount of tension in the air. You just don’t know what is about to happen.

I decided to look around the area, to try and find any clue as to whether another one of those other robots will show up or not. I wanted to keep a low profile, so standing in the centre of the carpark was not a good place. The best place to go right now is near the stadium, but not inside as it is almost a guarantee that there will be camera’s dotted around the place, and they might even be hidden as well, just to add insurance of catching whoever decides to go snooping. I do not want to be one of those people who’ll be captured and questioned. I’d hate to think what I would have to tell them.

That sounded bad, didn't it? I meant to say that I'd hate to be under that kind of pressure trying to come up with what's essentially a lie. I would have to be convincing at least... there's no time for this.

I heard a noise from above. It sounded much like an airplane, but had a bit more bass to it. My curiosity made me look up and I was glad that I did.

‘Well, what do you know,’ I said. I almost couldn’t believe it. My hunch was correct. A robot, flying low, towards the stadium made an appearance. It didn’t spot me as it continued before stopping over the stadium’s roof and prepared itself to drop through. I had to stop the robot before it caused any more damage. This time, I’m going to try and see if I can get a name of who is behind this.

I reached for my watch and selected the same powers as before. I increased my strength to the same amount I had during the previous fight since I knew that it worked. I increased my speed to the same amount as well. I didn’t bother with the healing factor. Instead, I went for the power of invulnerability, or indestructibility, if you will. Hopefully, I won’t have to heal because I won’t be cut. I added one more power: Flight, just so that I would be able to get to where the robot is now, and bring it down before it brings itself down through the stadium’s roof.

I prepared myself for the fight ahead. If all goes to plan, the entire fight will happen in the carpark, as far away from the arena as possible, without being too close to the surrounding houses.

‘Here goes nothing.'
