Last week I announced I would be taking a break for a week to
relax. I was pushing myself too much and I paid the price. I used last week as
a way to basically do nothing, except for a few minor things concerning planning,
and that’s pretty much it.
I’m high-jacking Mum’s Monday’s article to explain what’s going to
happen from now on. I haven’t changed any of my articles. Tuesday and Saturday
will remain as The Watch, Wednesday will stay as Film/TV of the Week, Thursday will
continue to be 1,000 words – I had thought about changing the name to A Picture
Paints, because it does sound better and doesn’t warrant me having to explain the
meaning behind the title every time, but I’ve already brought the business
cards, so the title will remain the same. Friday’s Video of the Week will also
stay the same with the occasional interruption with Random Topic Generator if
anything of interest jumps out at me, and of course Sunday will stay as Jerry’s
Journal. If I changed that he would bark at me.
I can also use this article to make an announcement regarding my
short stories, specifically my Virtual Reality Simulation System (VRSS –
pronounced Versus) series. My plan was to release 3.2 not long after 3.1
because I felt the story grew too big for one short story, so I decided to
split it into two parts so I can keep it as massive as I had imagined it to be.
This week has confirmed a problem I’ve been having with the series that started
some time ago. It didn’t click. The two stories, I enjoyed writing, but the third,
I wanted to make it bigger than the previous two, and so I pushed my imagination,
and it retaliated by not working properly. I made the executive decision to
halt that series until I’m ready to return. When that will be, I don’t know,
but there’s a good chance that it may never return. I’m happy with what I have
written, and they will remain available for anyone who wishes to read them.
As for any other short story, I don’t have one currently planned
or ready to be written as of yet, but with this new lease of life, I’m sure one
will come along shortly. My original plan was to pump one short story out each month,
but I found it can’t work like that. I have to let this progress naturally.
When a new one will be released, I don’t know, but that doesn’t mean there won’t
ever be another one, it’ll just be a while before an idea that sticks comes
along. In the meantime, I can focus on this blog, and a couple of other
projects that I’m hoping to be out by the end of this year – more news will
follow as and when things jump to the next stage.
So that’s the foreground explained, but what’s going to happen
behind the scenes. After all, I didn’t help myself, because I pushed myself,
didn’t take regular breaks – it was a total and complete mess. I have created a
new schedule that should help me be more efficient with my time. The articles
will still be uploaded every day at midday, England’s time.
This week has helped a lot. I do feel refreshed, relaxed,
motivated, and I’m getting better night sleeps. I’m happier all round and ready
to continue writing forwards. I would like to thank every single one of you who
has read anything I’ve written.
Thanks for reading
