James Patterson: Private Paris

(By guest writer, Sandra Hudson)

Private is a fictional company set up by Jack Morgan in Los Angeles which has spread worldwide with offices in London, Berlin, Sydney and Paris among other places. The private teams specialise in security, helping the police with state of art forensics, surveillance and investigating disappearances which is what bought Jack Morgan and the expertise of Private to Paris.

A client of Private employed their services to locate his missing granddaughter which was accomplished, and said granddaughter returned to Los Angeles. She had gotten to know some unsavoury people and had stolen some information from them. While this was happening, influential people were being murdered, and graffiti was appearing at the murder scenes. A member of Jacks own private team was arrested because he went to the same mosque as the suspects. During investigating the case, Jack gets arrested after breaking French laws, after which he solves the case.

This book also shows how a person can try and get away with murder using copycat means by using the re-enacting the previous murders to make it appear to be a part of them but Jack saw right through this.

This book is cleverly written. It explains how you can follow someone without them knowing, by changing your appearance and carrying different things along. With all the twists, it’s easy to detect that all is not what it seems, especially when certain characters get caught up in a conflict that isn’t really there.

I would recommend this book and the other private books in the series. with the twists and turns in them you won’t want to put them down.
