1,000 Words: Castle Park’s Squirrels

Today I’m going to show you two pictures that did take me a little white to take, but was worth every second when I saw these two pictures. The squirrels in Colchester’s Castle Park are known for not being scared of humans, and if you’re patient and friendly enough, they will come over and have a bit of a look, and a sniff to see if you have a nut for them.

Easily the cutest two pictures I have ever taken, it was during Autumn, when the squirrels were out and about, hunting for food for the winter. I was walking around with an acorn in hand, trying to capture the moment when the squirrel took it off my hand. Whilst I didn’t get that exact moment, I did get just afterwards, when it was gratefully chewing on it.

The second photo was it sniffing my hand to see if I have another, but when it found nothing, it ran off, eagerly looking for more.
