Virtual Reality Simulation System (VRSS) – Story 3.1

I had planned on releasing this story last October, but halfway through writing the story, I found myself gradually disliking what I had written and where it was going, and so I decided to rewrite a large section of the story. Over the last couple of months, a lot of unexpected circumstances happened pretty much all on top of one another, lengthening the time it took for me to finish the story, but eventually, at the end of December, the third instalment in the Virtual Reality Simulation System series (VRSS (pronounced Verses)) was complete. All I had to do from then on was editing, and correcting any spelling and punctuation mistakes I had made along the way, and yes, rewrite a couple more lines once again.

Last week, I was finally able to sit back and relax knowing that this story was finally 100% complete. This instalment takes a step further when compared to the other two. The first told the story from the perspective of someone who has one of those gaming pods in their rooms, the other was from the perspective of someone experiencing the pod for the very first time and was too young to play the game. This time, the most advanced gaming systems in the world have grown and spread across the world, spawning tournaments. This story comes from someone who somehow made his way to the final of a huge tournament that’s also broadcasted all around the world through live TV.

I wanted to make each story bigger than the last, but my rule when it comes to short stories is keeping it under or up to 10,000 words, and I hit that before I had finished what I wanted to accomplish with this story, which is why I’ve split this up into two parts: 3.1, and 3.2. I will admit that 3.2 needs a little bit of work before being released, but I promise you it won’t be such a long gap in between. The latest will probably be the end of March, but I’m hoping to release it sometime near the middle of February. I would like to give you a specific date, but at the moment things are flying all over the place it’s hard to organise the specifics, however, as soon as I know when it’s going up, you’ll know.

I would like to thank everyone who has read my articles and short stories and I hope you enjoy the next instalment.

Thanks for reading
